Before One Bad Maa became a brand, it was just me, standing in a dimly lit garage surrounded by half-finished projects, a stubborn dream, and the faint hum of an idea I couldn’t shake. There were no marketing plans, no brand boards, and definitely no investors. There was just grit, caffeine (lots of it), and chaos (nothing in my life comes without chaos), the kind that either breaks you or builds you into something stronger. Everything has made me stronger so far!
At that point, I didn’t set out to start a brand. I set out to rebuild myself. Every drop of sweat, every misstep, every long night hunched over a sketch, spreadsheet, jotting down ideas, was a reminder: I wasn’t done yet. I was only just getting started.
The Spark That Lit the Fuse
It didn’t happen overnight. It started as a whisper, that small voice that says, you were meant for more than this bullshit. It grew louder each time I felt stuck in the same daily grind, the same rules, the same tired expectations.
I was done shrinking to fit into boxes that were never meant for me. I was tired of being told to slow down, to play nice, to tone it down. So I grabbed what I had at the time, a few tools, an old laptop, a stubborn streak, and an idea and got to work.
That garage became my laboratory of rebellion. I learned design, I played with texture, I built characters that carried pieces of me, the Rebel who refused to quit, the Lawless who did things her own way, the Rage who burned bright even when misunderstood, and the Vex who ruled chaos with her own kind of grace.
Each one of them reflected a piece of me, and a piece of every woman who’s ever had to rebuild from scratch, maybe even more than once, much like myself.
The Grind: Grit, Grease, and Growth
Let’s be real. Building anything from the ground up isn’t glamorous. It’s messy. It’s long nights when the world is quiet and your mind won’t shut off, ever. It’s mistakes that cost you money and lessons that cost you time.
I spent those nights learning new tools, balancing a full-time job, along with any side hustle I could manage, building a shop, and sketching ideas that turned into the bones of One Bad Maa. I started small , printables, designs, a few digital products, while working on cartoon shorts, and comics. But underneath it all was something bigger: an identity forming.
Each design carried attitude. Each post carried energy. One Bad Maa wasn’t just a shop , it was a state of mind.
I didn’t want to just sell products. I wanted to build a brand that spoke to the woman who fixes her own life with the same hands that fix her skates or her car. A brand that didn’t flinch when life got loud, or messy, or hard.
The Shift: When Chaos Became Direction
The real shift happened when I realized One Bad Maa wasn’t just about me. It was about every woman who’s ever been underestimated, told she’s too old, too bold, too loud, or too much.
I saw a world of women like me; working full time, raising families, chasing side hustles, and still dreaming of more. Women who wanted freedom on their own terms. Women who weren’t afraid to build, fall apart, and rebuild again.
That’s when The Realm of Chaos: Home of the Bad Breed Maa’s was born, the visual universe where my characters came to life. Rebel, Lawless, Rage, and Vex aren’t just illustrations. They’re the heartbeat of the movement. Each of them carries her own story, her own scars, her own brand of strength.
Together, they became the soul of One Bad Maa, a reminder that chaos doesn’t mean failure. It means creation.
The Realm of Chaos: Where Grit Meets Freedom
When you enter The Realm of Chaos, you’re not stepping into a fantasy world , you’re stepping into a reflection of reality. It’s loud, it’s bold, it’s unapologetic. It’s the place where strength and softness collide.
Every character, every design, every line I create is a piece of that story , my story, told in ink, pixels, and a little rebellion.
Rebel leads the pack, wild-hearted and fierce, a horned toad on a Harley who’s seen storms and still rides into the next one with a grin.
Lawless rolls through life with rat energy and confidence that doesn’t need validation.
Rage burns through expectations with a fiery smirk, proving that fire doesn’t fade with age.
And Vex, the Monster Maa, holds it all down, chaos and creation in perfect balance, her goblin crew riding shotgun.
They’re more than characters. They’re the backbone of a world built for the ones who never stopped fighting for their own kind of freedom.
The Mission: Built from Grit & Chaos
One Bad Maa isn’t just about art, products, or posts , it’s a damn manifesto. A reminder that you don’t need permission to rebuild, reinvent, or restart. You can come from the dust and still shine like chrome in the sun.
This brand was built from grit and chaos, and it runs on caffeine and Hellwater. It’s for every woman who’s ever felt like her best days were behind her, when really , she’s just getting
started.
One Bad Maa is a rebellion against playing small. A reminder that there’s still fire in your veins, still freedom in your hands, and still time to raise hell in your own name.
So if you’ve ever felt stuck, too late, too tired, or too
far gone, this is your sign.
Get back up. Pick up the wrench, the pen, the brush, whatever your tool is, and build your own version of One Bad Maa.
