Petty Magic 101
A Class by Vex (Attendance Mandatory, Consent Optional)
Vex would like to clarify something before we begin.
Petty magic is not “low-level” magic.
It is precision magic.
And it is vastly misunderstood.
Petty magic isn’t about destruction.
It’s about inconvenience with intent.
It’s the art of small, targeted chaos.
The kind that doesn’t burn the Realm down, just reminds everyone who’s paying attention.
Vex started teaching Petty Magic after realizing the other Bad Breed Maa’s had absolutely no respect for personal space, personal property, or personal boundaries.
So she educated them.
Magically.
⏰ Lesson One: Timing Is Everything
Rebel learned this first.
She was mid-sentence.
Mid-rant.
Mid-“let me explain why I’m right.”
And suddenly every bolt she touched rolled just out of reach.
Not far.
Just far enough.
Rebel froze.
Vex sipped her drink.
“Interesting,” Vex said. “Looks like the Realm wants you to slow down.”
Rebel stared at her.
Retaliation pending.
😈 Lesson Two: Subtlety Hurts More
Lawless didn’t notice right away.
That’s how you know it worked.
Her keys were always almost where she left them.
Her jacket sleeve was always slightly inside out.
Her music never started on the song she picked, always the one after.
Nothing dramatic.
Just… irritating.
Lawless narrowed her eyes.
“You’re doing something,” she said calmly.
Vex smiled. “You can’t prove that.”
Lawless respected that.
She also started plotting.
🔥Lesson Three: Fire Is Not Immune
Rage laughed when she heard about the class.
Magic tricks didn’t scare her.
Fire obeyed her.
Until her matches started going out at the exact moment she struck them.
Every. Single. Time.
No wind.
No moisture.
Just betrayal.
Rage screamed at the sky.
Vex took notes.
📚Lesson Four: Petty Magic Is Educational
Petty magic isn’t about dominance.
It’s about correction.
It teaches:
- Awareness
- Accountability
- And the consequences of being annoying on purpose
Vex insists this is a public service.
Of course, retaliation is part of the curriculum.
Rebel started hiding Vex’s tools.
Lawless rerouted and renamed her spell ingredients.
Rage threatened to burn the classroom down.
Vex adjusted accordingly.
Petty magic evolves.
Soon the Realm was filled with:
- Shoes that untied themselves

- Drinks that went lukewarm instantly
- Doors that squeaked only for specific people
- Notes that rearranged their own words
Nothing dangerous.
Just… loud in the soul.
The other Bad Breed Maa’s eventually asked Vex to stop.
That’s how she knew she’d succeeded.
Petty magic always ends the same way.
With respect.
Vex ended the class with one final announcement:
“Petty magic is not for revenge,” she said.
“It’s for balance.”
She paused.
“And for fun.”
Vex Rule

teach them creatively.
Realm Footnote
Petty magic is currently banned, restricted, and actively in use.
Enrollment is closed.
Vex is still teaching anyway.
